Outstanding senior, Ameera Ali, was chosen to speak at the AVID National Conference in San Diego this year. As an AVID student she knew the benefits of the AVID elective and how much it helped her to achieve her goals in school. She talked about this in her rousing speech to thousands of educators gathered from all around the country. At the end of her speech she received a standing ovation. But this was the second standing ovation. The first she received when she announced that she had been accepted to Yale University on a full ride scholarship.
We are so proud of Ameena and all the educators that helped her become the shinning star that she is today. We look forward to big things from Falcon alum, Ms. Ali!
