Welcome to Mr. Bleakley's class!

2023-24, here we go!

 

I am entering my fifth year of teaching at O'Farrell, have adopted a sophomore homebase, and am currently teaching the following classes: 

 

AP Lang

10th Adv. ELA

Creative Writing

Photojournalism

 

Alongside my teaching duties, I am also immensely proud of my tenure as both the Varsity Girls Soccer coach, as well as the advisor for the after school Rock Band program. Sidenote: if either of those sound like fun, stop on by room 5030 for a chat!

 

When I'm not on campus, I am frantically preparing for our my wife and I's firstborn to arrive (due date is November 1!). Our family unit up until this year has comprised merely of ourselves, Mia the dog and Charlie the cat; suffice to say, we couldn't be more elated. 

 

Throughout my studies I have earned a Bachelors degree in English Literature and a Masters in Education from the University of San Diego, in addition to a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fiction from Columbia University. My educational journey has taken me through community college all the way up to the Ivy League, with stops at every level in between. I believe it is precisely this breadth of experience that allows me to guide my students precisely where they need to go as they begin their lives. 

 

If ever you have a question or concern, please don't hesitate to stop by or give me a ring. Students and families are always welcome in my classroom. And, if I'm not in room 5030 when you drop in, head on out to the soccer field. This is a special year for the Lady Falcons; do yourself a favor and catch a home game.
