Principal
Thank you for choosing The O’Farrell High School. As the principal, I am honored to lead a remarkable group of teachers and students who make our school stand out in the world of education.
I am a proud San Diego native, having grown up just a few miles from O'Farrell. Following my service in the United States Army as a forward observer, I returned to my hometown and pursued my bachelor’s degree in Social Science and teaching credential at San Diego State University. My journey at O'Farrell began when I joined as a student teacher, and I have remained dedicated to O'Farrell ever since.
I have four children, one of whom is an O'Farrell graduate, Class of '19. I have spent over two decades working at this incredible school, and every moment has been filled with passion for my job. Over the years, I have taught middle and high school History, including AP History, and was recognized as one of America’s Outstanding Teachers by the National Honor Society.
I am the founding high school principal, guiding an exceptional staff that has achieved seven consecutive titles as one of the Best High Schools in America according to U.S. News & World Report. O'Farrell is an AVID National Demonstration School and has received the prestigious NCUST award. Our success has even been documented in several books, including "Five Practices for Improving the Success of Latino Students" and "When Black Students Excel."
My mission is to empower students to confront challenges, persevere through adversity, and create great lives for themselves, their families, and their community.
